Design Idea Competition Scheme As A People Place
We've designed a model Pasar Awam that goes beyond comfortable, clean and neat for the community of Seri Kembangan. The design aligns with the Selangor State Government's Smart Selangor Action Plan 2025 (SSAP2025). Particularly Section 5 on ensuring a resilient economy by designing a market to cater for round the clock activities, as well as Section 6 to support better living with technologies through a digital smarts approach. We believe these will navigate the new market to a robust rakyat-based economy model, able to weather economic headwinds.
The Concept (Smart Circadian)
The new SK10 Pasar Awam is designed to aspire for better facilities, which starts with the pedestrian-friendly covered walkways from the nearby public carpark, where people are sheltered from rain, hot weather and given light illuminating at night, safely & comfortably forming good accessibility to the market. Next would be the universal design passageway with color coding (applied at existing Jalan SK10/3, SK10/5 & Jalan Pasar) leading & matching the market's distinctive features of wayfinding and brand identity significance. It is further enhanced with tangible Malaysian identity through architecture impression shading devices championing building's passive strategy & low-energy building design.
